Probably the plainest, simplest game on this list; it’s also the most addictive and just tough to get enough of. This is a jumping game where you move from platform to platform with a smiley face. It might sound stupid to you, but if you download it and start playing, you’ll be at it for a while. It’s like Doritos; try eating just one.

GameBoid (GBA Emulator)
This is the “famous GameBoy Advance emulator” and new games are being supported all the time. It’ll take a bit of time to get it all working no doubt, but when you do, it’s pretty awesome. There’s a full version that is worth buying if you’re looking to use this often.

Flying High
This is a great flying game for your Android phone. You can play the game with two different goals in mind: to go for and complete the stunt course or fly in survival mode and see how long you can go. This is a solid game; could be better and surely will improve over time.

All the World War Android games are amazing. There are millions of people that play them and rightfully so. You can battle other players live while you’re fighting the war. It’s intense and if you’re into good graphics and solid fighting, this game is for you.

iMobsters
This is one of the free Android arcade games that has quite a few diehard fans. You start your journey up through the mob as a petty thief with the goal of becoming Mafia Don! You accomplish this by bringing others into your mob and doing all sorts of mob activities. The graphics are good and it’s got a ton of players- now over 1.5 million people!

Vampires Live
This is an extremely popular multiplayer vampire game with over a million players. You start off as a “lowly vampire and become the most powerful vampire lord” with lots of time. This is another game that could become quite addictive. It’s fun and I guess a lot of other people think so as well.

Fruit ninja online
Just like the previous 3 games on this list, it’s another massive multiplayer online game. You do battle with other ninjas live to advance yourself. It’s fun just like the others on this list. If you’re into MMORPGs, you’ll definitely like this game.

What makes people go crazy about these games?

The games have everything say from stunning graphics, lovely characters to vibrant colors and brilliant gameplay. There is always a competition in the Appstore to top the charts, but who makes it to the top? Is it games with good gameplay, or the ones with a great subject?

You really cannot judge that, can you? Then how is it that, even simple game with not so good graphics or with any theme make it to the “Top”. What makes Apple to list them in Top 10?

One thing that matter’s the most here is the number of downloads and the popularity of games, but again there arises a question, is it the games developed by popular game developers only top the chart?

With too many questions and confusion, many people tend to download the games with highest number of reviews, ratings and download, whether they like it or not. There are plenty of games out there with superb graphics and excellent gameplay, which goes unnoticed.

You all like Angry Birds, but do you like Shoot the Birds, which has fabulous graphics and vivid gameplay? What is lacking in Shoot the Birds, why it has not made it to the Top?

As a player, even I like some of the games which have made it say Top 50, but there are many other games too, which have not.

But Brain Puzzle, Bird’s the Word, Untangled HD, Doodle Car HD, Bubble Trap, and Magic Paths HD and many others to name also fall under my personal favorites.

What makes the latter ones less popular than the initially mentioned games? No answer right? I am not comparing, but all I want to convey is, there are many such good games in Appstore, which are getting overlooked by some or the other reason. World of Goo is the funniest and most interesting game I’ve played that revolves around Goo ever! It’s a funny puzzle game where you have to guide Goo back into the sewage system. But there are different kinds of Goo to help you do this, for instance, Black Goo will be your basic Goo to connect to each other for creating towers and bridges, Green Goo is re-connectable unlike the black Goo, Red is exploding Goo and white Goo will create a connection that looks a little bit like snot! 2D Boy has certainly done a good job in creating a game that is not only really fun to play, but gamers are also able to obtain this game for a mere 10 bucks!

Not only is World of Goo a simple puzzle game with a hell of a lot funny sounds and amazing levels which will make you crack your brain, it also includes a small story line where ( by solving the many levels) you are helping the world become cleaner for everyone as you put all the Goo where it belongs.

World of Goo is a guarantee for fun and is worth about 4 hours of game time, however with all the achievements in each level you’ll be playing it over and over and over again.

And at last, the moment will be there (somewhere in 2011) with the long expected Star Wars: The Old Republic Update. This update features many great things to improve the experience of gamplay for example:

-there will be two different Jedi classes of which to choose from. It’s either the “knight” that focuses on fighting with the lightsaber, or the “consular that chooses to fight by using the Force.

The game also introduces a computer controlled player which you are able to command around to do many of the things that you don’t want to do for example: crafting (in this case, using the artifice or biochem skills), gathering crafting materials (in this case, bioanalysis and slicing), and lower-level mission tasks.

-In addition to having a “slave” companion, Bioware also introduces a PVP area where Republic characters are able to fight against Empire characters on the planet of Alderaan. At this PVP area there is a defending team, which is trying to defend turrets from being destroyed and the attacking team which is seeking to destroy it for their galactic warship will be destroyed by the turrets.

Although the PVP areas are not available for players who just bought the game, over-time (when a higher level of experience is reached) they provide a fresh and exciting twist to the game’s original storyline.

Having played some of the evil characters in the game already, I found it hard to get excited about the Jedi characters, because they are not equipped with jetpacks, nor able to shoot lightning bolts… However, for the good guys or real team players out there, these new Jedi classes will prove to come in handy during quests and certainly while doing fights together. The final game promises a lot: deep storyline, companions, PVP and much more which many Star Wars fans have been dying to see, though you have to wait a little longer for the game will come out SOMEWHERE in 2011.

There are single player and multiplayer modes so you can practice your skills and then play head to head against other people.

Game Modes:

1. Arcade: Slice as much fruit as you can in 1 minute. There are bombs and power-up in this mode. Bombs will reduce your score by ten points so don’t slice them.

2. Classic: Slice as much fruit as you can before you get three strikes. A strike happens when fruit touches the bottom of the screen without being sliced. Bombs end the game if they are sliced.

Multiplayer Modes

1. Classic Attack: This is the classic version of the game but head to head. The first person who gets 3 strikes loses.

1. Keep your finger just below the best score counter in the upper left part of the game. If you keep your finger in this area, it is easier to make straighter and more consistent slices.

2. If you see a bomb close by fruit, wait till they separate from the fruit before trying to slice fruit.

3. Horizontal slices usually are better because you are likely to get more combos.

4. Remember that you can use more than one banana power up at once so they stack on each other.

5. You are less likely to get combos if you keep your finger on the pad, use more than one finger, or make slices in a circular shape.

6. If a lot of fruit is tossed up at the same time, the smaller fruits are better to go for because they require more accuracy and you have less time to slice them.

It is a two-for-the-price-of-one kitchen system as it provides the functions of a blender as well as a food processor and also makes pulps of whole fruit and crushes ice.

It has one ‘control box’ area on which either one of the two containers can fit, each with its own blades and other attachments.

Ten Times The Fun?

Fruit Ninja Astuce is a game for mobile devices where you use your fingers or thumbs to slice fruit. You might have to avoid bombs mixed in with the pineapple and papaya or you may be tasked with getting as high of a score as possible in a short time limit but for the most part that’s really all the game is. Fruit goes up and you have to slice it before it falls. It’s a simple game but it more than earns its 99-cent price tag. Fruit Ninja Kinect isn’t 99-cents, though, it’s 800 MS point ($10) and that’s going to be a hard thing for a lot of people to ignore. I can’t really justify a game that’s ten times the price on one platform when it adds very little. Fruit Ninja Kinect adds some, but not necessarily enough. The good news is that it’s still a highly addictive and enjoyable game.

When you start a round of Fruit Ninja you’ll see an outline of yourself on a background. At first I thought this was just a cute way to try to implement the Kinect but I quickly realized that it’s also the most important part of the games feedback for the player. When you swing your arms or kick your feet tiny slashes run along the screen where your limbs are on the shadow, and as long as there’s fruit in the way they’ll be split apart in gloriously squishy fashion. Your shadow tells you where you are and how you line up with the objects on the screen. It’s a really smart design choice because it eliminates the lack of spatial awareness a lot of other motion control games are guilty of. While it isn’t a form of true tactile feedback it goes a long way to making you feel like you’re always capable of cutting every fruit onscreen and never the victim of a skittish sensor.

Players will surely want to know whether the Kinect works like it should or if it cuts out. The answer is actually really odd. During my time with the game I never once encountered a single problem with the Kinect not registering a swipe with my arm or foot. Outside the game is a whole other matter. Navigating menus is done by slashing the names of modes which circle around a stationary fruit on the screen. You still see the same type of shadow as you would in-game but for some reason it’ll often cut in and out, and when it comes back it takes time to calibrate. It’s shocking how often this happens and it’s sure to give people a really bad impression out of the gate. I hope Halfbrick Studios sends out a patch to fix this because once you get by the menus the game runs great.

Anyone familiar with the series will know already that it’s not just a matter of slicing a couple of fruit and watching the points tally up. High scores depend on your ability to split apart multiple fruit at once, awarding extra combo points for any swipe that connects with three fruit or more and the odd critical hit. If you expect to get anywhere in Classic Mode you’ll need to make the most out of these combos. There’s also a strict three strikes and you’re out marker that ends the round if you happen to let three fruit fall unscathed. Along with the fact that there’s an instant round over if you slice a bomb, the three fruit penalty makes this the hardest mode out of the bunch.

On the other hand, Arcade Mode is a lot more hectic but puts a time limit on things. Here there will be special fruit that you can cut that falls down or flies across the screen. If you manage to cut one of them in the short time they pass by you’ll be given a power up. These include things like Freeze which makes everything go slower, Frenzy which litters the screen with a ton of fruit at once and Double Points which gives you, well, double the points. To make it high on the leaderboards in Arcade mode you’re going to need to master both the combos and the powers ups, doing your best to string together all three of them at once.

Rounding out the single player is Zen Mode and Challenge Mode. Both are unspectacular. Zen Mode takes away the power ups and bombs and gives you more time to play (but not much more) but I think it would have been better if it was an endless mode without the three strikes rule. Challenge Mode is the same as all the rest but with specific goals in mind. So you might have to get 150 points in Classic or 300 in Arcade but the rules of those modes apply just the same. It’s hardly worth calling it a mode and I think they would have been better if they had just elaborated on the unlock system or even added a leveling system to the game.

My Shadow Slices Better Than Your Shadow

You will unlock a few goodies as you go but these aren’t overly noteworthy either. You can change the design of your shadow or alter the color of your blade so that your swipes do different things. I suppose it’s not something worth being critical over but it feels like this stuff doesn’t go far enough to warrant the higher price point for the game. I would have liked to see some cross-promotion with other titles so you could change your shadow into other characters, maybe, or even changed the blade into something ludicrous or funny.

The biggest addition to the game, by far, is the party mode that lets two players play at once. Players play at the same time on their own half of the screen and compete for best score. To keep things clear each player gets his or her own color. Even still, things get really hectic with both people whipping their arms about and I definitely had a few occasions of smacking my better half in the face accidentally. She, too, managed to hit me a few times, decidedly less on purpose. It goes without saying that (safety issues aside) this is the perfect mode for anyone with kids who’s looking for a game to play together.

It’s difficult to score Fruit Ninja Kinect without considering the importance players put on cost. This game can be had for a lot of people at one tenth the cost of this console version. But with that said this is undoubtedly the best version of Fruit Ninja. It plays spectacularly well on the Kinect while retaining the same short-burst, leaderboard hunting, addictive gameplay and adding an immensely fun multiplayer mode. But it’s still a mini-game that you can’t play for longer than thirty minutes to an hour at a time and no matter how many times you come back there’s no real form of progression. Fruit Ninja Kinect is then probably best summed up with the phrase “what you see is what you get.” What you see is incredibly shallow and limited, but what you get is a lot of fun.

Conquest, Sean O’Connor; $1.99. Predictably, a RISK clone is on our list. Less predictably, it’s not the popular $4.99 app Lux. Conquest plays faster, is designed to look and feel like the classic board game, and gives you scads of maps and options to choose from. After playing Conquest, Lux and other RISK clones look like kludges.Words With Friends Cheat App.

Monopoly, Electronic Arts; $4.99. There is no amazing animated sequence of a guy in a top hat and monocle taking down Godzilla, and there is no 3-D camera tracking the progress of a housing development under construction. There is no flashing screen urging “Finish Him!” when you foreclose on a property. It’s Monopoly, just like you remember it. This is a good thing.

Scrabble, Electronic Arts; $4.99. Confession time: Scrabble makes the list because bad Scrabble is better than good Chutes and Ladders, or a variety of other choices. But EA has dumbed the game down to the point where more competitive Scrabblers will be frustrated at their inability to challenge and be challenged, and it suggests words to make you smarter than you are. If you don’t know that Xi is a Greek letter and Xu is a currency, Scrabble has no business telling you. That said, if you’re not a purist, it works great and looks like the real thing

Shredder Chess, Shredderchess.com; $7.99. If you’re a casual fan of the game, get one of the many free apps available. Shredderchess is for serious chess buffs. It offers a variety of pleasing board/playing piece graphics, and more importantly has the strongest chess algorithm on the app market. But don’t be scared; it scales back to any playing strength. It tracks your rating and allows you to set the engine appropriately, provides for coaching options, and includes virtually endless chess puzzles to solve. Worth the price whether you’re serious about chess or about learning chess.

The Game of Life, Electronic Arts; $4.99. EA has updated life for the iPhone, tweaking it to play faster and adding a lot of 3-D perspective in the movement. What the heck, it’s a video game now, right? But just like the original, you and your friends or family will be amused and entertained by this classic until it kills your battery (the usual way a “Life” session ends.)

Whether you played the original board games during your “wonder years,” or are just discovering the naked aggression of Risk or the cold heartless capitalism of Monopoly, these apps give you a way to play them at a safe distance from family members or friends-a feature that may have come in handy for some families the first time through.

I propose we use some of the small MAV simulated mechanical bugs as our model. At the University of California at Berkeley, gentleman named Ron Fearing has designed such a flying bug. In my proposal I wish to use his design with a polymer muscle to flap the wings and that the wings pick up the energy leakage as it flies through the electro-magnetic energy. As the wing goes through the air it will pick up the static electricity until it sparks.

Similar to when you drag our feet against the carpet. Once it is built up it will spark and move the polymer muscle and then flap the material memory wings and like a rubber band the wings will flap back. Thus you have propulsion.

In Ron Ferring’s and in Alan H. Epstein, of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) models the units look like bugs and even have GPS navigation and molecular electronics. Imagine thousands of these acting as one like a swarm of killer bees attacking their prey? Can you imagine the face on your enemy when thousands of mechanical bugs chase them down? Think on it.

The game was designed as a web based flash game and was called Diamond Mine when it first came out. The company that designed it eventually partnered up with a very popular IT company and it was then that people could start playing the game for free.
